Christmas Lunch Bag Friday!

Happy Lunch Bag Friday the 13th~

Yay! More Christmas bags.  A few nights ago we watched “Home Alone”. It was the first time for our youngest (that she can remember anyway). The girls were in stitches rolling around the floor and acting the painful parts out- especially Penelope- which made us all laugh even harder. I got out my phone and began recording their giggle fits. So fun. Penelope has been talking about it everyday since… I have a feeling we will be watching that many more times before Christmas is done.

On the back of the Rudolph bag Seth wrote something like this: “So, eventually Rudolph did go down in history, but more for his role as Supreme Dictator of Canada.” hahahaha LOVE IT!

Hopefully this brought you a chuckle. Feel free to “share” the smile

Merry Christmas Season!

Rainbow Dasher and Queen of the Lunchroom

Happy Lunch Bag Friday! 12-6-13

Did you miss us last week?  We hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving... we did! It was wonderful stuffing ourselves and spending so much time together. One more month of overtime and we will get to see this awesome animating/illustrator daddy more.

The girls put in special requests for this week. Makenzie loves My Little Pony (even though she's a teenager- hey it's not strange... there's a whole fun community of Bronies).  She asked him for something My Little Pony-ish and this is what he came up with. LOVE IT! Seth calls this one "Rainbow Dasher" hahaha I guess you'd have to be a Brony to understand the joke behind the name.

Kendyl requested that he draw on her lunch bag showing her as the undisputed Queen of the Lunchroom. SUCCESS!  I love her sitting on all the lunch tables stacked up almost like the Princess and the Pea. She was very excited to bring it to school today. She kept looking at it and proudly smiling as we waited at the bus stop this morning.

I look forward to the rest of the month and the beautiful Christmasy things Seth will draw for them on their lunch sacks. Happy Friday!... Happy December!... Happy Christmas!

Lunch Bag Friday: Mythical Creature Hunter

Lunch Bag Friday’s Post
Oh WOW! Seriously? This set is sooo knock-your-socks- off amazing! I kept trying to sneak peeks at them Thursday night while Seth was drawing because I could tell they were going to be great. He keeps out-doing himself on these. I loved hearing the symbolism behind this idea- it led to a great late-night discussion.   It has such beautiful lighting too.

I loved listening to the girls Friday morning morning, debating and creating the story of what they thought was going on. Pip’s theory made absolutely no sense, was slightly macabre, and super silly.  We all just looked at her like she was nuts when she was done telling us about it/acting it out. lol

Lunch Bag Friday (11-8-13)

"Too Late"

You can just tell this this is such a sweet story and a sad story at the same time on these bags. Seth and I were talking about how the teenage years and preteen years for both of us seemed to be filled with unrequited love. It was in those years that we both had our first really strong crush and heartbreak. Our older girls are going through that just a little bit and Seth wanted to make them some lunch sacks that say, “I know. I love you!”

It was fun to hear them run down the stairs two Fridays ago when Seth drew these, flip on the kitchen lights, and both let out a long sigh, “oooooOOOOHHhh. How cute,” and “Poor guy!” When I walked in the room Kendyl was still sighing and smiling at her sack (she’s our hopeless romantic). She turned to me and said, “I haven’t had a boy like me at the same time as me liking him since Kindergarten. We use to pretend Stars Wars and puppies and one time we hid in a closet from his sister and he kissed my hair.”

WHAT?! I never knew that! hahahaha I think we may be in for some rough years ahead with these girls. hahaha Wish us luck!

Lunch Bag Friday: A Cold Thanksgiving

Happy Lunch Bag Friday!

"Sudden Ice Age Theory" (poor guy had bad timing) and "A Good Thanksgiving"

Crunch time on his movie = either staying up to the middle of the night to draw or getting more sleep and printing off old sketches onto white paper sacks. I'm so glad Seth chose to print off previously made art so he could get more sleep. The girls and I got such a kick out of these this morning. Makenzie was especially excited to bring hers to school. Seth "picked" this one for her because of some old Kindergarten graduation footage I shot of her going to town trying to hook a big one while she was on stage many years ago. hahahaha We love looking up that old video. It gets funnier every time.  It's awesome and she's super proud of it. lol

Well we hope you have a great weekend and a fun Thanksgiving just around the corner... I hope it turns out better for you than this good wife.

Peter Pan Lunch Bag Series #4

This is the last set from Seth’s Peter Pan Series that he made last year for our girls.   I'm sure Peter Pan would approve of finishing the series off with the wonderful boy himself and his Wendy Bird. :)  I imagine they are overlooking the scene of Hook tying the native princess to Skull Rock in order to try to trap Peter.  tsk tsk  Such bad form Captain!

Peter Pan Lunch Bag Series #3

Another mermaid and her octopus buddy. When Seth gave our girls these two lunch sacks they thought these friends were playing hide-and-go-seek.  :) I love Seth's mermaids.  They are always so beautiful.
